MY SECRET GARDEN

Marcos Terol on this occasion focuses his attention to nature and in particular his immediate surroundings, his garden. The plants and flora so characteristic of his home in the Costa del Sol that soak up the Mediterranean sunshine.  It´s this sunlight so unique to this part of Spain that he wishes to reflect. Textures, colours and forms express the beauty and delicacy of these plants common to these Mediterranean shores.  Two contemporary artist who have inspired me deeply to create this series are David Hockney with his series The Bigger Picture and Alex Katz with his floral paintings.

"After completing my art studies in Madrid we moved back to our home town Benalmadena, Malaga ( South of Spain ). Returning to the warmth and light of the South of Spain felt like a new beginning. My immediate attention went to the vibrant colours of the plants and flora that were blooming in June as if to welcome us on our return.
