BLUE BLOOD

This series contains seven works that depict portraits of queens and divas from music and film. Marcos Terol has chosen those iconic figures that express majestic statues, and whose appeal and magnetism lies in their strength and power rather than just their ascetic beauty. In his selection of portraits the artist has intentionally reversed gender roles, allocating male attitudes to female figures and conversely awarding the qualities of the feminine stereotype to the only male representation. Therefore proposing an alternative reality in which women are predominant and powerful, and leaves the question open for the viewer to make their own conclusions.
