More importantly I want to also share the poster for the show that has just been published. The selected image is one of the paintings I specially produced for the show. Measuring 146cmx146cm the painting is one of the three that correspond to the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. The painting is titled Carousel and is a favorite of mine. Ive played with the colours of the original image and given it a twist by using youthful and playful pinks, magentas, purples and blues.
I live and my studio is located in Benalmadena Malaga and the show takes place in Cadiz a two hour drive taking us past Gibraltar. I mention this as I spent part of my childhood living in a small coastal village called Palmones across from the bay of Gibraltar. I hadn't been back in 20 years so we decided to stop by. Things have changed a lot but what continues intact are the views of Gibraltar and beautiful beach and its white sand. We will come and go but nature will always win the test of time.
We finally arrive in El Puerto de Santa Maria to be welcomed by its majestic Bullring. One of the stunning features of the exhibition halls is the entrance. Massive double wooden doors nearly 4 meters high. These are one the entrances to the bullring. Once in the hall the height of the ceilings is dramatic. Vaulted ceilings with white washed and old brick walls. The grandness of this turn of the century building speaks for itself. It doesn't get much more authentic than this.
Its been a long journey since I started on the production of this Show last March and now at last Im going to be taking a short break before the final sprint to the finish line on the 26th August. On Thursday I will be flying to Berlin for a few days where I will be participating in an exhibition and then on to Sardinia for a week. As they say you must visit a new place every year and this time for me is Sardinia. In Berlin I intend to soak in fresh inspiration and in Sardinia it will be about soaking in the sun rays and dipping in the turquioise sea.
Looking forward to more on my return on the 26th July.
